Police in California accuse Hazel Whitt Mitchell, a 73 year old of scamming a 93 year old woman out of $300,000.  The exact details of the scam are unknown, put police allege that Mitchell told  the victim that her late brother owed her money.  Somehow, this has been going on since 1994.  She was arrested in Texas for a related charge but released.

The prosecutor is going to have a tough time with a 93 year old witness.  How do you get her into court? They are going to have to get this to trial ASAP as the defense tactic here is to stall as long as possible.  Eventually, the victim may not be in any shape to come to court if she is even in shape now to testify.

The police must have some good evidence if they are going to try to prove that this guy didn’t owe her money from 15 years ago.

Story is here.
